No Cost
- Visit BC Hydro’s Power Smart Web site for a free personalized report on energy use in your home. Take the Power Smart Quiz and set your energy saving goals.
- Take steps to become more energy conscious and teach your children and co-workers how to take action.
- Turn down your thermostat by 1OC and save up to 10% off your heating bills.
- Turn off the TV and other appliances when not in use.
- Turn off lights when you leave the room.
- Unplug chargers for cell phones, cameras, cordless power tools, toothbrushes and other equipment when charging is complete.
- Wash clothes in cold water and use a clothes line instead of a dryer.
Low Cost
- Arrange for an energy audit from an ecoEnergy advisor who will recommend cost. effective solutions and inform you about federal incentives for homes and work.
- Use a power bar with one “OFF” switch for multiple devices, particularly TV’s, audio and computer equipment.
