Treaty 8 communities of Fort Nelson First Nation, Prophet River First Nation, West Moberly First Nation, Sautleau First Nation, Halfway River First Nation, Blueberry River First Nation, Doig River First Nation, and McLeod Lake First Nation were invited to participate as pilot communities in the incentive component of the provincial Community Action on Energy Efficiency (CAEE) initiative - Phase 3.

During the ESP incentive pilot that was conducted March 2006 - March 2007, community members had access to provincial grants for energy efficient retrofits to new and existing homes from October 2006.
